Walking Through

unnamed

We hope all is well with everyone! We are so glad that, despite the present circumstances, Gospel for Haiti continues to reach out to minister and evangelize those in Haiti, and we are happy to announce that there have been very few cases of COVID-19 In Haiti. We believe this will continue to be the case as we pray!

We were looking forward to our 11-week summer trip to Haiti in May with our family, and then Covid-19 came along canceling both Darrell’s trip in March and our family trip in May. Fortunately, all the plane tickets were refunded and will be rescheduled. At the present time, our plans are still on “standby,” yet we are so glad to be able to continue doing the work of the ministry through Adonai Gospel Church, our church body in Tinot. Right now, we are hoping to return as a family with a shortened trip in early June. We are incredibly excited that World Missionary Press has assigned 5,000 Bibles in our name out of their shipment to Haiti this fall! Praise God! This is awesome news, and God continues to show much favor to the work we are doing in the Central Plateau of Haiti.

Back in the States during this time, we are ministering around our home and in the city of Springfield. One precious young man has been saved and baptized -- and is doing wonderfully after receiving a life-saving liver transplant; thank you for the prayers for him!  We met and ministered to a lady while on the city bus who desired to be baptized, and we were thrilled to be able to baptize her in the Finley River. We also have met, shared the Gospel, and prayed with dozens while ministering on the buses and in downtown Springfield. A group of friends is meeting in our home for “home church” on Sunday mornings until regular services are held again in buildings. Everyone is so excited to be together again.

Back in Haiti, some of our dear pastors who work with Gospel for Haiti distributed food and supplies for meals to all the houses in the nearby villages of Tinot and Kandelon last month. During this time of very quick inflation, the people are in more need than usual. Just last week, we shared an assortment of seeds with the families in Kandelon and Tinot and, with the seeds, also provided some added instruction. They were extremely thankful and happy to be receiving this provision for their families! The church-at-large in Haiti is not permitted to meet as a large group at this time, similar to here in the USA, but they do meet in smaller groups at different times. The daily work seems to go on like usual, and, thankfully, there have been no COVID cases in the areas where we work. Thank you so much for your continued prayers for these people. Of course, we are always very thankful also for any prayers you can afford for our family. We love you and we appreciate you! Please let us know of any prayer requests you have.

‘Til the whole world hears,
The Tonsings
