As we plan to go to Haiti, these verses come to mind: Exodus 33:15-16 “Then he [Moses talking to God] said to Him, ‘If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?’ And He said, ‘My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.’ ”
A week ago we had a need for a lot of money to come in for the purchase of tickets for our family to go to Haiti. Although we are willing to go bankrupt doing what God has put on our hearts to do, I don’t believe that is God’s plan at this time. God’s plan is to teach us to trust Him while we carry out his expectations for what we are called to do in Haiti. So while we are preparing to buy the tickets, knowing God is always faithful to provide, a check for the entire flight for all of us is provided. God knows what we need before we need it!
I’m not saying that I won’t have a day where we go without, I’m just saying that if I go without, God is trustworthy to take care of us. We absolutely must get rid of our preconceived ideas of how we think God will get His work done. Most of the times if we’re listening, He will show great ways that He planned to get stuff done, which blows the doors off of our lowly misguided thinking.
God, may Your presence go with us in our lives so that all people will know what You do in behalf of those who love and trust You!
